School Counselor's Role
School counselors spend the majority of time working directly with students, teachers, parents, and the community in responsive services, individual student planning, as well as providing social and emotional curriculum to support the challenges students face in schools today.
What we do
About me
My name is Marilyn Oliphant. My education background includes a Masters of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M - Commerce and a Bachelors in Psychology from Texas Woman's University. My School Certifications are in : ESL, Special Education, Principal and most recent School Counselor. My current educational goal is working towards obtaining LPC.
My hobbies are traveling and spending time with my daughter. My favorite places to travel are to see mountains and beautiful beaches.
I am excited about my role as a School Counselor at Lowe Elementary. I am always enthusiastic to serve our students and staff. My motto as an educator is... "Kids don't care what we know, unless they know we care!"
